Georg Jensen – Covered Sugar Bowl and Creamer #600A, Pyramid CollectionDesign: Harald Nielsen, 1931 · Jensen & Wendel, Copenhagen, 1945–1951 · Sterling Silver 925

A covered sugar bowl and creamer #600A from Georg Jensen's Pyramid collection in sterling silver 925, bearing the Jensen & Wendel mark of the 1945–1951 period — a post-war production era during which the silversmithy resumed full activity following the Danish occupation, maintaining its exceptional standards of execution.

The Pyramid pattern, designed by Harald Nielsen in 1927 and inspired by the period's fascination with ancient Egypt following the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, stands as one of the most accomplished expressions of Art Déco in Scandinavian silversmithing. Harald Nielsen joined Georg Jensen as an apprentice in 1909, became the founder's brother-in-law, and devoted more than half a century to the silversmithy. After Georg Jensen's death in 1935, he made it his life's work to carry on the master's legacy, directing the manufacture from 1954 to 1962.

Georg Jensen silver works are held among the masterpieces of the Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen, as well as in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Koldinghus Museum, Denmark.
