Beautiful Afghan in wool on wool, measuring 252 cm wide by 345 cm long in superb condition from the 1970s.
In red and black wool, for the whole, white point, this carpet is decorated with small guls, medallions that l found on Central Asian carpets in alternating crosses.
Beautiful deep wool of great quality. Afghan handicrafts are always very good bills.
In other regions, nomadic rugs are often loosely knotted and have a long pile, unlike Afghan or Turkmen rugs which have dense and tight knots due to the Persian knot, velvet strokes, and goat's or sheep's hair.

These carpets have a masculine aura and have always been appreciated since the 19th century for decorating the offices of businessmen.
These majestic carpets are certainly the best in Central Asia and are the work of the Afghan tribes.
The same spirit of knotting and pattern is found in the neighboring carpets from Turkmenistan belonging to the Tekke tribe, generally called Bukhara-Tekke, but the old production consists of smaller carpets, due to the distance that separates them from Central Asia and foreign markets.
