Madonna and Child, 18th century
Made of mahogany-coloured varnished wood, this statuette is set on a stepped octogonal base. Virgin has her head covered with a veil, and wears a long coat with a flap passing by the waist and winding around her left arm, where is sat the Infant Jesus. Wearing a long tunic, he holds an orb in his left hand and lifts his right arm in benediction.
Excellent condition, sound wood. A crack on a side of base, the right hand of the Infant has been repaired (see pictures).
