Wooden Corpus Christi, 16th century
This Christ, shown dead, has an emaciated body with a prominent ribcage and a rounded belly, while the legs reveal the shinbones in relief. The head, adorned with a thick crown of thorns, is tilted forward to the right. The perizonium, composed of horizontal bands, is enlivened by two large flaps that billow in a scroll at the sides.
Very good condition, sound and hard wood.
