Big wrought iron pair of compasses, 18th century
This kind of compasses was used by stone masons or carpenters. This one shows a fleur-de-lys decoration on each side of its head. Upper parts of points are worked as stylised bird head, giving form to a heart when gathered.
Very good condition, dark patina. One point is a bit shorter than the other.
