ROUND PLATE in wrought pewter with a wide wing called "à la cardinal" decorated with an engraved corporate-type property mark: IB / compass and hammer, in a shield.
Unidentified master's mark: IB / vegetable crown / star, in a round cartouche.
Diameter: 34.4 cm.
SOUTH-EAST OF FRANCE, LATE 17th century

The light areas on the plates are only lighting effects
Very good condition.
Beautiful hammering facets are visible on the reverse.
It was Cardinal Mazarin who introduced this Italian form to France.
