Very fine domestic copper, probably used in a château kitchen, decorated with the owner's coat of arms.of the owner.
This cauldron is made of several sheets of copper assembled in a "wolf's tooth" pattern and brazed to brass.and brazed with brass.
Circular in shape with a slightly globular base, it rests on threerests on three truncated cone-shaped feet soldered with tin (one shows traces of restoration).one of them) and fitted with a wrought-iron swinging handle attached to two beautifullyattached to two beautifully folded copper leaves riveted to the bowl.
Two very fine repoussé decorations on the bowl, one of whichone depicts in a coat of arms the house coat of arms under a marquisal crowntwo lions on a burin-stamped background; the other depicts a leafy cartouche in theLouis XIV style.
The lower part of the bowl is embellished with a rich embossed and engraved frieze.and engraved frieze.
