Pewter Tea Caddy – Southern Germany, Nuremberg Style, Late 17th Century
An elegant hexagonal pewter box, finely engraved and decorated with floral motifs and fantastical animals (phoenix, peacock, stag). The lid is surmounted by a dragon-shaped handle and adorned inside with a molded rosette.
South German work, circa 1680–1710, probably intended for export.
No hallmarks. In good original condition, with a light patina from use and no restoration.
