Wooden Corpus Christi, 15th century
This Christ shows an almost straight posture, only slightly lopsided, legs being hardly bent with feet superposed. The ribs are strongly marked in ridges that go on to the back. The short perizonium in wide strips is knotted on the right hip. The Christ is here depicted dead, incidentally the lance strike wound can be seen on the right side.
Eyes closed, he shows a calm and dignified face. Long and bifid beard, eyebrows, and hair are worked in long straight ridges. On each side of the face, hair falls in two big twisted locks. Head was originally wearing a wooden crown of thorns, whose a few spikes remain.
Good condition, wood is hard and sound. Missing arms, three toes are broken.
