Bronze plaquette, the Entombment of Christ, 20th century
This plaquette depicts the entombment of Christ: lying on the ground, Christ is supported by Joseph of Arimathea and surrounded by the Virgin Mary, Maria Magdalena and another Holy Woman. In the background, entry of the grave appears dug in the rock, with its stone door beside. Feet of Christ are covered by his shroud, and his crown of thorns is on the ground.
Excellent condition, brown patina (lighter on the edges, this plaquette originally was probably in a frame). Hard to read signature in lower right corner.
