Madonna and Child with John the Baptist, 18th century
Sat on a rectangular base with canted corners, head covered with a veil, the Virgin wears a long coat animated by a projecting pleats work. On her right arm, she bears the Infant Jesus who holds an orb in his right hand. They are accompanied by John the Baptist depicted as a child, who hold a book in his left hand, and raises his right arm toward the Infant Jesus.
The whole is set on wooden turned foot, of a more recent fabrication.
Excellent condition, sound wood, a few really tiny lacks of wood and friction marks.
