Authentic Edo period Jingasa, conical Samurai headdress in harikake (papier-mâché technique) covered with black lacquer depicting a golden kamon in the shape of a diamond. without tehen (opening at the top of the helmet) without tehen kanamono (sometimes decorated copper ornament). The black lacquered interior with a red signature (see photo) CONDITION: In good condition for the age, the exterior has lacquer chips and dents. Inside there are chin straps, called ago-himo. Diameter: 32 cm Height: 20 cm Reference S1864 Provenance: The Jingasas on sale belonged to a private collection to the directors of Bapty & Co, Mark & Peter Dineley, recognized for being the largest suppliers of weapons and armor for uses in theater and cinema.
