Baccarat Crystal Staircase Orb – Twisted Design – 19th Century

A beautiful antique staircase orb made of clear crystal by Baccarat, featuring a twisted-rib design, likely from the 19th century.

The sphere features an elegant design of deep, spiraling ribs, whose swirling pattern creates remarkable plays of light and reflections through the crystal.

It rests on a curved crystal stem, ending in a circular base designed for mounting on a staircase newel post.

This model is well known in Baccarat’s crystal production.

A beautiful piece of antique crystal, as interesting as an element of interior architecture as it is as a decorative and collectible object.
