Photographer Rabbit - Viennese Bronze, Bergmann, Circa 1900
Amusing polychrome cold-painted Viennese bronze depicting a photographer rabbit, standing in front of his bellows camera mounted on a tripod.
The rabbit holds the shutter release in one paw and a photography accessory in the other. This whimsical scene is typical of the anthropomorphic animal bronzes produced in Vienna around 1900.
The piece bears, on the underside of the base, the “B” mark within an amphora from the Franz Xaver Bergmann workshop, as well as the inscription “Austria”.
Viennese work, circa 1900.
Very good overall condition.
Some wear to the polychrome, consistent with its age.
