At first glance, one recognizes what appear to be stylized birds, only to find the design ultimately returns to a more abstract form. This sense of hesitation is precisely part of the charm of this piece.

In the central field, these shapes repeat in rows, with slight offsets that prevent the composition from appearing static. The eye moves forward, pauses on one silhouette, then moves on to another. A rhythm emerges, both regular and lively.

The borders accompany this movement while framing it. The wide ivory band, enlivened by angular, colorful motifs, forms a sort of path around the central field. The narrower lines surrounding it extend this dynamic and lend the whole piece a beautiful graphic energy.

When Colors Draw

Here, colors do more than simply fill in the shapes: they themselves contribute to the drawing. Deep red, blues, touches of orange, and flashes of ivory are juxtaposed, echoing one another and bringing new silhouettes into view.

In some places, the outlines seem to become more defined; elsewhere, they almost blend into the background. This interplay between pattern and color—between what we can clearly see and what we can only imagine—gives the piece its unique character.
