Malayer carpet around 1950 of a respective size: 130 cm x 197 cm, in very good condition, fringes, velvet and edges, slight wear from use.
Our design features an elaborate staircase medallion in dusky pink, blue and cream, featuring numerous stylized flowers.
The colors remain soft, faded red, chamois, beige, mouse grey, orange, blue and light grey.
The beautifully drawn border consists of stylized flowers. .
These rugs are knotted in strong, thick, shiny yarn, often dyed with natural dyes and spun by hand.
This yarn gives a resistant surface and a beautiful color palette.
They have in common that they are now woven with cotton warp threads and a weft thread between each row of knots.
The patterns are often geometric, but there are also very elaborate floral patterns.
## Newer, post-1980 rugs are often made of synthetic colors and lower quality wool than older rugs.
