Old Kazak Lambalo Rug, 139 Cm X 207 Cm, Caucasus, Hand-knotted Silk And Wool, XIXth Century

Kazak rug, called Kazak lambalo, from the Caucasus, Armenia or Georgia, in silk and wool on wool, very finely hand-knotted, in good collectible condition.
Usual restorations are visible, on a rare 3 mm thick model, a model all the more rare in that it is in silk and wool on wool and has a decoration of medallions on a red field covered with a trellis blue.
This carpet with large geometric patterns, mostly flowers, is composed of a large central medallion, ornamented with an octagon with eight small niches flowered with carnations on a golden yellow background, all placed on a midnight blue background .
This model presents us with many flowers, trees of life, rare swastikas numbering six, crosses, hooks and the letters u and n of the Armenian alphabet, a considerable number of motifs.
The red field is framed by a wide border borrowing a decor of stylized rams' heads, flowers and other motifs.
A counter-border presents a motif of what may be a variant of a decoration of crabs or stylized flowers, bordered by two bands of Medahil.
The set is in good condition, and above all very bright, note the slight abrash of the colors due to a change of bath during the preparation of the wools and silks. Abrash remains a warranty factor for home mats, not shop mats.
