Large, cast-bronze lucky coin with a square opening in the center. The obverse bears the four Chinese characters 嘉隆通寶 (Gia Long Thông Bảo), meaning “Precious Coin of Gia Long,” emperor of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty. The reverse features a relief design of two dragons soaring through the clouds, chasing the sacred pearl—symbols of imperial power. Beautiful antique golden-brown patina, with signs of wear. Slight casting defects and file marks; otherwise in good condition. Vietnamese work from the early 19th century.
