Chinese porcelain dish, decorated in the Japanese Imari style, blue, red and gold on a white background, representing a mother and her children in the garden. The Imari style was invented in Japan in Arita during the second half of the 17th century. In China around 1700, potters copied this style and produced Chinese Imari for export to Europe throughout the 18th century. The dish presented here dates from the beginning of the period. It can be attributed to the reign of Emperor Kangxi or that of his son Yongzheng. Usually this type of dish is simply decorated with flowers; it is rare to find one with figures. Good condition, no repairs or cracks. Diameter: 21cm
