Louis XVI-style Photo Frame. Renato Salimbeni, Italy, Florence, 20th Century
A rare three-panel photo frame in gilded silver, enhanced by a striking decorative accent of translucent red enamel applied to a refined guilloché background. Inspired by the Louis XVI style, the frame’s composition is organized around a central laurel wreath, embellished with ribbons, bows, and stylized foliage. The oval and round openings on the panels are highlighted by a braided border, while the intricate relief creates an effect of sophisticated symmetry. The frame’s architecture and decoration echo late 18th-century French Neoclassicism. The back is lined with red silk, highlighting the finesse of the craftsmanship and the museum-quality of the object.
