Russian Silver Cup With Cloisonné Enamel. Gustav Klingert, Russia, Moscow, 1893
Russian cylindrical silver goblet, 84 zolotniks in weight, richly decorated with polychrome cloisonné enamel. The exterior surface is entirely covered with a complex ornamental composition based on symmetrical plant motifs, incorporating stylized flowers and scrolls characteristic of the late 19th-century Moscow school of jewelry. The enamel’s color palette combines deep shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, white, and red, accentuated by the precise rhythm of the silver cloisonné. The interior is smooth, displaying the silver’s natural patina, creating a refined contrast with the decorative richness of the exterior. The piece as a whole demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship and a perfect mastery of the cloisonné enamel technique.
