Elegant Frame Made Of Vermeil Silver And Semi-precious Stones

An elegant vintage tabletop photo frame, crafted in silver. The piece stands out for its rich and elaborate hand-embossed and hand-chiseled work, featuring leaf scrolls, floral garlands, and a shell-shaped pediment at the top.
The silver surface is enhanced by elegant color contrasts thanks to refined details in gold-plated silver (vermeil) and the setting of six circular green semi-precious stones, cut in the cabochon style.
The back of the piece attests to the high level of craftsmanship: the back panel is made entirely of solid wood, finely shaped to follow the frame’s profile, and features original swiveling metal flaps for opening the compartment. The tabletop stand consists of a silver base, embellished with engraved decorations along its surface.
The piece bears a strong resemblance to the famous works of the silversmith Stefani of Bologna, but the object lacks any visible hallmarks.
Dated to the 20th century.
