19th-century Painting, Our Lady Of Good Counsel Of Genazzano

The work stands out for the intense, tender expression on the Virgin Mary’s face, captured as she holds the Baby Jesus close in a tender embrace.
The delicate facial features, the soft application of color on the robes, and the finely decorated details of the halos echo the famous 15th-century fresco originally from Genazzano, here magnificently reinterpreted with the artistic sensibility and private devotion of 19th-century Italy.
The painting is enhanced by a splendid period frame made entirely of wood, lacquered in matte black on the main band and embellished with interior and exterior moldings gilded with gold leaf.
The back of the work (visible in the photo) features a protective closure for the frame consisting of a solid wooden panel made of dry, structurally sound solid wood, which protects the canvas from dust and temperature fluctuations.
