Large Wall-mounted Water Pump Made Of Cast Iron, Copper, And Brass, With A Medici Vase, Circa 1850
A rare and imposing mid-19th-century wall-mounted water pump, dating from around 1850, featuring remarkable ornamental cast iron work.
The main body of the pump is cast iron, with a copper piston body. It is equipped with a brass main valve as well as a brass drain valve at the bottom.
The upper section, which is particularly richly decorated, features a cast-iron Medici vase adorned with scrolls, foliage, and a bunch of grapes.
