Rotating Oak Bookcase – Late 19th / Early 20th Century
An elegant and original rotating oak bookcase, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, circa 1890–1910.
With a particularly slender profile, it features three storage levels composed of openwork vertical posts, allowing books to be displayed on all four sides.
The unit rests on a carved base mounted on casters and pivots around a central axis, allowing the bookcase to rotate.
Beautiful warm oak hue and lovely antique patina. There are a few scuffs, scratches, and signs of wear, visible in the photographs, which contribute to the piece’s authentic character.
Its tall profile, relatively uncommon for this type of rotating bookcase, makes it a piece that is at once decorative, functional, and space-saving.
