"Rare Pair Of Riding Boots – Morocco, Circa 1940 – Bootmaker To Marshal Lyautey"
Elegant pair of knee-high boots in patinated brown leather, made in Morocco around the 1940s. These are handcrafted, hand-sewn boots, attributed to a Moroccan bootmaker who worked for Marshal Lyautey, Resident General of France in Morocco from 1912 to 1925. These boots are from a family history: they belonged to the seller's mother, a passionate horsewoman, who already wore them at the age of 16 in 1941. This detail adds emotional and historical value to the object, in addition to its artisanal quality. The leather has been carefully cleaned and nourished, respecting its original patina. The set is healthy, solid and ready to be preserved or displayed. Beautiful piece at the crossroads of French military history and exceptional Moroccan craftsmanship. ???? Provenance: Morocco ????
