Mirror With Gilded Wooden Frames — Louis XV Period.
Mirror with gilt-wood frames — Louis XV period
An elegant Louis XV-period mirror with wooden frames, carved and gilded with gold leaf, retaining its original mercury mirror.
Its openwork pediment features a bouquet and clasp motif, extended by side panels adorned with volutes and vine tendrils. The fluidity of the lines and the richness of the carved decoration exemplify the Rocaille style of the 18th century. The mirror frames add depth and luminosity to the piece, while the gilding highlights the reliefs of the frame.
A very beautiful mirror with harmonious proportions, whose floral decoration lends it a refined presence.
Note: there is a slight chip at the end of the right leg, which does not significantly affect the appearance of the decoration.
