Émile Gallé – Small Vase with Wild Roses – Art Nouveau

A charming little vase signed by Gallé, made of multilayered glass with acid-etched cameo decoration, from the Art Nouveau period.

Baluster-shaped, with a rounded body and a tall cylindrical neck, it features a very pretty continuous design of wild roses, buds, and foliage finely etched with acid.

The glasswork displays a particularly beautiful harmony of colors: a luminous background with pale yellow and bluish hues is enlivened by a floral design in mauve and deep purple. The different layers of glass create stunning effects of depth and transparency despite the piece’s miniature size.

The naturalistic design, characteristic of Gallé’s style, flows harmoniously around the entire vase.

Please note, as clearly visible in the photographs, a small chip measuring approximately 3 mm on the upper edge of the neck. This can be repaired or minimized by a restorer specializing in glassware. However, we have chosen to present and sell the vase in its current condition at an attractive price that takes this minor flaw into account.

A delightful little collector’s piece, appealing for its size, the delicacy of its floral decoration, and above all its beautiful color palette.
