Louis-antoine Estachon (1819-1857) Still Life With Grapes And Fruit On Marble Entablature
Louis-Antoine Estachon (1819-1857)
Still life with grapes and fruit on marble entablature
Oil on canvas signed and dated 1852
Elegant still life by French painter Louis-Antoine Estachon depicting an abundant bunch of white grapes overflowing from a stone bowl adorned with flowers, accompanied by peaches, plums and other fruits arranged on a marble entablature.
Here, the artist displays all his talent in rendering materials and light effects. The delicate transparencies of the grapes, the freshness of the fruit and the contrast with the dark background lend the whole a refined atmosphere characteristic of the best still lifes of the XIXᵉ century.
It's a very special moment.
The work is signed and dated "Estachon 1852" lower right.
It is presented in its remarkable original stucco frame, richly carved and gilded with gold leaf, participating fully in the decorative quality of the whole.
The painting is currently in the workshop for cleaning of the canvas as well as refurbishment and cleaning of the frame. The final photographs, precise dimensions and detailed state of conservation will be communicated at the end of this intervention.
A work of fine quality, particularly decorative, by an artist whose appearances on the market remain infrequent.
Dimensions to come.
Restoration and cleaning in progress.
