Russian Icon Of Christ Pantocrator – Silver Oklad 84 With Polychrome Enamels

A beautiful Russian icon depicting Christ Pantocrator, likely dating from the early 20th century.

Christ is depicted facing forward, blessing with his right hand and holding the Book of the Gospels in his left hand. The icon is protected by a remarkable silver oklad of 84 fineness, richly crafted and entirely adorned with a polychrome enamel decoration in shades of blue, turquoise, white, pink, and purple.

The border features an elegant floral and foliage design, while the outer edge is adorned with a finely crafted frieze. The background also features an intricate design that lends a beautiful sense of depth to the entire piece.

The setting bears several hallmarks, including a “К. ФАБЕРЖЕ” hallmark, the authenticity and attribution of which to the Fabergé house are not guaranteed.

Beautifully decorated, this piece is particularly striking due to the richness of its enamels and its imposing presence.
