Modernist Art Deco Walnut Desk, Circa 1940
An elegant modernist desk from the Art Deco period, made around 1940. Its clean design and architectural lines perfectly illustrate the transition from late Art Deco to modernist furniture.
Entirely veneered in walnut, it features a superb tabletop with rounded corners that highlight the wood’s beautiful grain. It rests on a solid panel base on one side and a four-drawer cabinet on the other. The drawers, mounted on wooden slides, feature their original metal handles with a stylized design.
The desk is veneered on all sides, allowing it to be displayed as a centerpiece. It is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina and a meticulous finish.
