Semainier Chest Of Drawers Art Décor, United Kingdom Circa 1930
Here's a piece of furniture that's both original and very practical.
It's basically an Art Deco weekly chest of drawers and closet made in England circa 1930.
This piece of furniture with a modernist cubist aesthetic has the particularity of being trimmed with a rather rare wood veneer, namely Madrona burl.
This is a tree native to the west coast of North America.
This type of furniture made it possible to store quite a lot of clothes in a small space: on one side the weekly drawers and on the other, behind the door, a small closet. This side is also fitted with two shelves, the original wooden rod being removable.
This semainier is trimmed with attractive original handles in Bakelite, metal and wood, all in light tones that stand out well against the honey mordor-colored speckled veneer.
As a finishing touch, a pretty frieze in worked boxwood enhances the door decor.
This piece of furniture has been completely restored and repolished with a traditional pad.
It's in impeccable condition.
It can be used as a chest of drawers in a bedroom, but also as a piece of office furniture, or dedicated to the storage of crockery and cutlery or even various collections.
The choice is yours!
