Luminous Art Deco Coffee Table Circa 1920
Belgian-made Art Deco salon table circa 1920.
This is a rare piece of furniture, a luminous table with its original electrical equipment, four Bakelite soquets and switch. The entire table has been completely restored.
It has been repolished in the traditional way with a buffer, giving a very beautiful appearance to its flamed walnut veneer.
The glass slab lining the top has been replaced identically, the old one having been cracked.
It is a twelve-millimeter-thick slab of acid-etched glass with a rounded polished edge.
It is held in place by a threaded rod and a solid brass ball.
The top closes a hollow box that has retained its period patina and conceals the electrical equipment.
This model is traditionally attributed to the "Maison De Coene Frères" in Kortrijk, Belgium.
This handsome Art Deco piece is both practical and highly decorative when lit and, thanks to its exclusivity and fine restoration, will add extra cachet to your interior.
