Antique Louis XVI Wicker-style Sofa In Walnut, Circa 1780
An elegant Louis XVI-period wicker-style sofa in molded and finely carved walnut. The curved, enveloping backrest is topped with a delicate carved bow, while the scroll-style armrests rest on curved consoles. The ornate waistband is punctuated by carved connecting blocks and rests on eight tapered, fluted legs, characteristic of the Louis XVI period.
The piece displays beautiful proportions and high-quality craftsmanship, reflecting the refinement of late 18th-century French furniture.
The sofa is in its original condition, with a beautiful original patina. The structure is perfectly sound and solid.
