An important and rare pair of large polychrome majolica apothecary jars, attributed to the Venetian workshop of Mastro Domenico Betti and dating to the 16th century.
The two jars are notable for their considerable size and the richness of their polychrome decoration, dominated by shades of blue, yellow, green, and ochre. On the front, within large circular medallions, elegant female figures are depicted, surrounded by an elaborate array of volutes, plant motifs, and Renaissance-style ornamentation.
