Pair of Tuscan wooden chairs, of Florentine origin and dating from the 17th century.
The two pieces feature a distinctive high, flared fan-shaped backrest, divided by vertical panels and topped by a shaped crossbar with curled ends. The polygonal seat rests on solid, carved supports, embellished with sculpted circular elements.
The sturdy construction, geometric lines, and architectural character of the forms reflect the taste of 17th-century Tuscan furniture.
Preserved as a pair, they form a set with a strong decorative presence and serve as an interesting example of 17th-century Florentine cabinetmaking.
