Antique French Folding Pocket Mirror Made Of Silver – Guilloché – 19th Century

An elegant French folding pocket or chatelaine mirror in silver, dating from approximately 1870–1900.

Both outer surfaces are finely decorated with a guilloché pattern and surrounded by a frieze of laurel leaves. One of the surfaces features an empty oval cartouche in the center, suitable for a monogram.

The case opens to reveal two round mirrors. Its sturdy ring allowed it to be hung from a chatelaine, a belt hook, or a chain.

The two silver parts each bear the French wild boar hallmark, used for small silver items. No other hallmarks were found.

The mirror is in good vintage condition, with normal signs of age and use. The mirror surfaces show a few spots and superficial wear due to their age. Please examine the photographs carefully; they are an integral part of the description.
