Location: Antwerp

Subject: this depiction of the Flagellation, with the body and its perfectly rendered skeletal structure—note the legs and knees, and the bloodied thigh beneath the perizonium (see photo).This Christ is rendered to perfection; his head and his halo of ethereal light are of the highest quality. The background is quite different, which leads me to believe this is an early work by Frans Francken II (1581–1642) and his workshop. 
Note that the executioner on the right has a sinister expression worthy of a Pieter Brueghel
The work was executed with very fine brushes and great attention to detail for the figure of Christ
