Antique Italian Walnut And Burl Walnut Armoire, Liguria, 17th Century
A large and elegant Ligurian cabinet from the late 17th century, crafted from walnut and featuring beautiful inlaid panels of walnut burl, which adorn the two-door front and the sides. The piece features an imposing, projecting, and richly molded upper cornice and rests on a base with bulbous feet. Of particular interest are the burl inlays, with their rich and dynamic grain, which lend the piece a refined decorative effect. The cabinet retains its original hardware, including iron locks, keyholes, and hinges, as well as brass knobs that adorn the doors. The presence of these original structural and decorative elements helps to restore the cabinet’s charm.
