Antique Empire-style Walnut Bookcase, Lucca, Early 19th C.

Important bookcase in walnut wood with six panelled doors and three drawers to the lower section, six glazed doors to the upper section. Fine pilasters with small gilt capitals, feet carved as pinecones with gilt highlights. The piece's features recall the taste of the Empire period, datable to the first two decades of the 19th century. The bookcase retains its original locks and all of its shelves, height-adjustable by means of a ratchet system.
