Empire-style Bookcase Opening With Three Doors
Important bookcase opening with three doors on the front, including a central glass door. Made in an elegant Napoleon III black patina, it features a sky-blue patina interior offering a refined, luminous contrast.
This piece stands out for the quality of its execution, with its imposing detached columns framing the sashes, resting on a remarkable so-called "obus" base. The ornamentation is particularly meticulous, thanks to a rich trim of chased and gilded bronzes: key escutcheons and key decorated with palmettes, as well as lozenge-shaped sconces centered on a mascaron head.
With its architectural lines, soberly luxurious decoration and generous proportions, this bookcase is a characterful piece of furniture, ideal for a classical interior, a cabinet of curiosities or Empire-style decoration.
