Large Circular Confidant From The Napoleon III Era
A rare and spectacular circular confidante chair from the Napoleon III era, reimagined with an elegant and contemporary touch. This unique piece, inspired by the traditional "confidante" chair—designed to encourage conversation—is distinguished by its central island shape, allowing seating all around. As a reminder, the confidante chair emerged in the 19th century during the Second Empire and was designed to facilitate close and discreet exchanges. The structure rests on turned, lacquered black wood legs, characteristic of the Napoleon III style. The entire piece has undergone a complete and expert restoration: • reupholstered in velvet with shades of gray, • fully tufted for comfort and refinement. Thanks to its modular design, this chair can be used: • as a central island, as the centerpiece of a living room or hall, • or as a half-moon against a wall, forming an elegant wall bench (pairs are possible). A striking decorative piece, ideal for a large bourgeois residence, a private mansion, or a prestigious establishment. Overall dimensions: Diameter 210cm, Height 107cm, Seat height 42cm. Half-moon dimensions: Length 210cm, Depth 105cm. Delivery upon request. Enjoy your visit to our gallery!
