Biedermeier-style Bookcase, Circa 1815/1820
Biedermeier-style bookcase with birch veneer, blackened columns and moldings. The cabinet rests on slightly curved S-shaped legs and is glazed over approximately three-quarters of its height. The lower part is adorned with a square panel with a star-shaped burr veneer inlay and blackened shield-shaped rosettes. The ensemble is topped by a triangular pediment adorned with a molded cornice. The capitals and bases of the side columns are gilded. The interior features three fixed shelves. Carefully restored and polished by hand.
