Swivel Coffee Table In Elm Burl By Maria Pergay, 1970s
The Les Merciers Gallery is honored to present a masterpiece of 1970s French design: a spectacular coffee table with swiveling tops, an authentic creation by the renowned designer Maria Pergay.
Known for her bold and deeply luxurious approach to furniture, Maria Pergay presents here a kinetic design that captivates with its ingenuity. The table consists of three stacked circular trays that pivot seamlessly 360 degrees around a central axis, allowing its geometry to be adjusted at will.
The trays are entirely clad in luxurious genuine elm burl. The exceptional craftsmanship of this wood reveals a spectacular organic grain, offering deep amber highlights. Each level is encircled by a thick metal band.Aesthetic Note: Although the warm hues of the elm burl may give a golden appearance in some photographs, the structure and metal bands feature an elegant silver finish.
Condition and Authenticity:This sculptural creation is in very good vintage condition. The tray swivel mechanism operates smoothly and is fully functional. The elm burl and metal rims have retained a beautiful luster, showing only very slight signs of wear consistent with its age, which attest to the history and perfect authenticity of this historic piece.
