Office Armchair Attributed To Jacob Desmalter - Empire And Consulate Periods
Artist: Attribué à Jacob-desmalter (1770-1841)
Based on a design attributed to François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter (French, 1770–1841):
Molded and carved mahogany desk chair back, with mahogany veneer.
The sloping backrest extends into armrests shaped like the scepter of Pharaoh Thutmose III. The front legs feature lioness heads, haunches, and claws. The rear legs are saber-shaped. Casters are present.
Dates from the very early Empire period, possibly even the Consulate.

Previous restorations, reinforcements, and a replaced crossbar. Wood in good condition. Very fine state of preservation.
