Essay On Fevers And Gangrenous Throats 1765 – Medicine
Essay on fevers; To which we added two dissertations:
One on gangrenous sore throats, & the other on Devonshire colic.
M. DCC. LXV. (1765) By Jean Huxan (1672 – 1768), English doctor.
Format in-12 (10 x 17.5 cm)
Complete collection 527 pages + Title page + Warning + Preface + Table of Chapters + Privilege of the King at the beginning of the work.
Period full calfskin binding. Spine with 5 gilt raised bands with floral motifs, red and gold title label. Red slices. Used condition, sound paper despite some classic foxing from time. Old bookplate in the margin cut out by a former owner. Binding: various traces of wear (cracked leather on the spine: reading), bumped corners, slightly rubbed covers. Weakened lower cap, but solid work and easy to read.
Beautiful medical work from the 18th century to learn everything about putrid fevers and its remedies, smallpox, gangrenous sore throats, etc.
