*Saint Francis of Paola (1416- died in the odor of sanctity for nearly 10 days in 1507) is an Italian religious living as a hermit, wandering the roads of Sicily and Calabria, with a strong reputation during his lifetime.
Miracles are attributed to him, such as the healing of a child from an incurable illness, the gushing forth of a spring, and twice delivering cities from the plague.
He was canonized in 1519 by Leo X.
