Oil Portrait On Canvas Of A Hussar Officer From The 3rd Regiment

The collar is the same color, which appears to be a shade of gray known as “Argentin gray.”
The braiding is silver, as are the brandebourgs and the buttons.
Our officer wears a Legion of Honor of the 4th class.

This color corresponds to the 3rd Hussar Regiment under the Empire; this regiment was formed during the Revolution from the Esterházy Regiment, an illustrious regiment founded in 1764.
This regiment took part in numerous battles and distinguished itself particularly at Valmy, Eschlingen, Eylau, Jena, Friedland, and Montereau.

The painting measures 44.2 cm by 53.4 cm
and the frame measures 53.8 cm by 63 cm
The frame was damaged but has been restored by us, with a reinforcement glued to the inside over a small weak spot (see photos).

Everything is period-correct.
