Pair Of Consulate/empire Officer's Pistols, Arquebusier Delomosne
Pair of pistols made by a gunsmith in Lisieux: DELOMOSNE, active from 1790.
Beautiful, high-quality craftsmanship; all the metal parts are finely chased with foliage and animals. The silver levers, which once bore initials (now erased), are also beautifully chased.
The 16.8 cm barrels still retain their blue (dull) and gold in the recesses (faded).
The lock plates are chased with the gunsmith's name and foliage.
The ramrods are present, one with a bone tip and the other with a cleaning cloth loop.
Overall length 31 cm.
Note that one hammer is broken and has been repaired, resulting in uneven chases.
1 screw and non-original stone clamp
The grips have been reattached (see photo).
Further photos and information available upon request.
