Pair Of Period Empire-style Cups With Landscape Designs And A Blue Background; Restored—paris Porcelain
Artist: Porcelaine De Paris
A charming coffee set for two, known as a “tête-à-tête,” made of Parisian porcelain, consisting of two oval-shaped cups—each with a handle adorned with a lion’s mask—along with their saucers. They are decorated with medallions featuring landscapes, set within gold frames, standing out against a speckled Lapis blue background. Each cup is a unique work of art, with its own distinct landscape. Beautiful matte and glossy gilding. Work in the Empire style, created during the Restoration, around 1830.
These are large cups, which for today’s use are suitable for a “long coffee.” A beautiful, refined object for everyday enjoyment.
Note : Part of a larger set, of which we have only a portion; we are also selling the matching coffee pot and another pair of cups to make a set of four.
The set is in excellent condition, with superb colors and very well-preserved gilding; no damage.
Cup height: 9.5 cm
Cup diameter: 7.1 cm
Saucer diameter: 12.3 cm
